Punkass / SkySkrapes,
I know you two are hurting and I understand how it feels to loose someone as special as MASK!! You are in my prayers and when you feel your lowest, just think of our friend looking down on you and the way he could drive you the craziest you ever felt or laugh harder then you could ever imagine. I belive that we are all judged at the end of our days on how many people we touched in this world and I am sure that he is up there waiting for you two crazy guys with his boot in the pearly gates waiting for his posse’ to join the PARTY!!

Mask, I know you hear me so I will just write this to you. I still can’t see your face without that one tear escaping. I feel like I have an extra angel watching over me. You were something else and there are just no words to describe what that something else is… You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
PUNKASS & SKY, rest assured MASK is well taken care of, I said a prayer to my parents and My father being a big mixed martial arts fan he was sent me a mesg. back, they accepted him with open arms. He will always be remembered as the man that set the MMA world on fire. You guys must BELIEVE that he will guide you to greatness…………. MASK you are in all of our hearts…………………………………………………
What a tremendous lost not just to MMA but for the world period. Mask you were an inspiration to alot of people bro and you will defintely be missed. The world of MMA will never be the same. Keep your head up and we will see you on the other side.-Peace
A man is not measured only by his accomplishments but by the legacy he leaves behind. Within that legacy he is reincarnated in our memories through which we put to action whether voiced or in an expression. It is with no doubt that Mask will become or is that legacy. He continues to live among those he touched and it will continue to be passed on in the eyes and hearts of generations to come. I feel that strongly.
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Mask personally I enclose my heartfelt pain and sympathy for your loss, Punkass and Scrape. Remember that when you “Simply Believe” you will always have him by your side…….
RIP Mask
Ive been a huge TapouT fan since i first saw and heard of them… All i can say is thanks for being such an inspiration, all of it has inspired me to fight, and theres not a step i take in the cage that doesnt Honor and Remember Mask.
“Believe”
and thats what mask and tapout made me do. I now Believe. Thank you mask. Thank you Tapout
JUST BELIEVE. Inspiring words from an inspiring person. Thanks for helping people BELIEVE that anything is possible MASK. You will be missed by everyone and remembered by all.
I left a message back in april under the ‘tribute’ section of the late Charles (Mask), your Dan’s (Punkass), and Tim’s (Skyskrape) blog and wanted to quote something that Charles D. Lewis Jr. had said on the ‘und3erdog’ interview with the three of you. It was, and is, an inspirational quote for me and hopefully for others in my predicament knowing that through God all things are possible, it is…. “HOPEFULLY AT THE END OF THE DAY IT WOULD BE SAID THAT I ENCOURAGED PEOPLE TO ENCOURAGE….ENCOURAGE YOU TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, WAY PASSED WHERE YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN GO, OR GET YOU TO BELIEVE IN SOMETHING THAT’S WAY UP HERE THAT YOU DON’T REALLY WANT TO TOUCH IT, YOU DON’T REALLY WANT TO BELIEVE…. MAN, GO BELIEVE IN THAT AND GO FOCUS ON THAT THING AND WHEN YOU DO THAT, THAT’S WHEN YOU’LL DO SOMETHING THAT SETS YOURSELF COMPLETELY APART FROM EVERYBODY ELSE. IT JUST TAKES ONE IDEA, ONE, TO CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY, YOUR KIDS HISTORY, AND INFLUENCE MANY OF MILLIONS OF OTHERS….JUST ONE, BUT YOU GOT TO GO UP THERE IN THAT ONE LITTLE PART THAT YOU’RE THINKING THAT’S JUST SO CRAZY…. IT ONLY SOUNDS CRAZY BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE IS THINKING ABOUT IT….THAT’S YOUR SPECIAL GIFT, YOU GOT TO GET UP THERE IN THAT.” That is about as real as you get and through that I along with others should and will be inspired to do what EVER it is in life we want to do…. So, to Charles’ (Mask) family, Dan (Punkass), Timothy (Skyskrape), and the rest of the crew, God bless you all and may the ‘Tapout’ name live forever!
Sincerley,
Kyle O.
Mask,
You will Not be forgotten! You will always be an insparation to us all. Thank you for the things you have tought us, again you will not be forgotten.
Sincerley,
TC
To Punkass, Skyskrape thank you for all you have done. Simply Believe.
Seldom does a person come along whose greatness comes from bringing out the greatness in others. That is perhaps the most cherished quality to find in another person, and I’m so happy that Mixed Martial Arts and the world had the opportunity to experience that quality through you Charles, and through your company. I have no doubt that you are in peace now. I want you to know that because of you I’ve learned to believe again, and it has changed my life.
Mask was a great man with a dream and was an inspration to all. I know what it is like to lose someone close to you but have faith that he is in a better place looking down on all the lives he touched and smiling, because even though it hurts that he is gone we will never give up on our dreams. Also he will be pleased to know that we still Beleive and that you Punkass and SkyScrape will continue to carry on the dream.
He was a great guy, and just like Gary i have also lost several people very close to me, I am truly sorry for your lost. may this poem i wrote for the funeral of my best friend also touch you as it healed me.
When the sun rose time and opression fell upon the Masses, and The Multitudes could be heard singing,”go away, go away, go away the woes of the be world.”But the Masses replied,”away, away, away we dont deserve this”.The Father made the sunset under the earth & the Multitudes could be heard singing,”go away, go away, go away the woes of the created.”The Masses replied,”away, away, away we have rid our woes.”The Father made the sun rise & the woes of the created followed,so he sent the Masses The majestic eagle soaring as high as the sun,& the free roaming stallion running as free and powerful as the rapids it runs with. the Multitudes could be heard singing,”go away, go away, go away the woes of the created.”When the Masses saw these symbols the worshipped and revered them; they said,”away, away, away with He who hath given us these which we worship.”As the Father heard this he looked down upon the created & the Multitudes could be heard singing,”come, come, come to us ye of respect, honor, and a humble heart” & like that they were gone and the masses could be heard weeping,”go away, go away, go away the woes of the created;away, away, away with those objects we revere…” and the sorrowful said,”Come back to us those we knew not…”
I remember one time Mask saying that even if he didn’t touch the hearts of millions, maybe he could be the one to touch the heart of the one who reaches to millions. . . Well, Mask, he was the one that reached millions! Out of all those people, I was lucky to be one of those!
In the middle of a life struggle, He inspired me to do some thing special! So couple years back I started learning jiu jitsu and boxing, He inspired me to become a better role model, He inspired me to change!
I think mask Inspired a lot of us in different ways and I’m so thankful for what he has done for me!
Not only will the MMA world miss him, but the world and those who really listened to his little lesson’s of the show and interviews. He was some one I looked up to and thankful for him coming into my life, even tho it was just through a tv or a computer screen, he still was there. Teaching, helping, and loving others more than him self!
We miss you Mask, I miss you Mask! Believe!
I really didn’t know alot about Mask, but what I have found out is tremendous. “One of a kind” you betcha, “One in a million” hell yeah. Actually, just sounds like a guy anyone could love. I didn’t know him, but, hell if you gotta love someone why not a guy called “Mask”.
He is in a better place, you have to believe that much, if you don’t then your basically not believing in him. So when you think of your friend, don’t do it with a frown, lift your head to sky and just smile.
I hope you guys are doing ok.
Thank you for just being “TAPOUT”
Loretta
When I saw Mask, It was on a episode of the TapouT TV show, he wanted to help young fighters get their dreams come true in a mma event. When I bought a TapouT shirt, it reminded me of him. I couldn’t believe that Mask would pass away in a car accident. It was from there that he became one of the most important heroes/idols in my life. Mask’s words helped me through 8th grade in middle school. As I prepare to graduate from 8th grade, I always know that Mask is looking over me and everyone else in the sky. I can still hear him doing his special laugh(I try to match his laugh) and telling me to never give up on your dreams. “Simply B3LIEVE”
Thank You Mask, R.I .P My hero!
wow here it is 2 months later and i just now found out about the loss of a great man in charles “mask” lewis. I have been a fan since I first saw your show . Mask and his laugh will truly be missed . It,s not very often you find someone these days who is such an inspiration and willing to help up and coming fighters.

Hey Punkass and Skyscrapes, I recently lost my brother and know how rough it is keep strong guys. I am a small time fighter but I dedicate my next fight to my brother Kevin and Mask. I just want to share a quote with you all that my brother used to say to me when I felt to small because all the other fighters are so much taller and bigger, “it is not the size of the dog that is in the fight but it is the size of the dog that counts, life is too short to be small.” Keep strong guys you are in my thoughts and prayers. R.I.P Mask please give my brother a hard time from me.
Since i was 12 all i have ever wanted to be was amixed martial artist. I saw my first fight here in my town at the fair grounds and was immediatley hooked. i live in a community where there were alot of wanna be cage fighters who were showing off there gear. Tapout was one of the first shirts i ever had gotten my hands on. i wore that till it rippied in half now its on the wall of my room. I member i got an order from you guys first site and since i had bought so much shit you gave me a free video. Bad For The Sport. This is where i got a taste of what tapout really was. MAsk Was the head honcho of the Crew. Man i loved hius style and atitude. As your company grew so did my love for the sport and your guys clothing and style. I have worn a tapout patch on all of my gi’s worn tapout shorts and t shirts at every single tournament i have ever been to. I felt it as a honorable duty to up hold. Then your guys show came out 2 years back and damn i saw the real essence of tapout more than that mnovie could evershow me. Mask was an inspiratuion to me as much as chuck liddell. he truely cared about the fighters like me whop are sittin here hustlin and fighting doin what we got top do to get great. I jus wish i could of had the privillage of meeting this idol of mine before i venture into the deep waters of mixed martial arts.
Thank you Mask For everything you have done tro pave the way for a kid like me top great things.
Pablo Rivera
I want to thank TAPOUT for inspiring generation to believe in their Dreams. There hasn’t been a company so dedicated to the fans, fighters, and industry. I believe MASK left the earth knowing he accomplised his goal with at least one person if not millions.
You are forevery missed!!!! my inspiration, MASK!

I have always been a longtime big fan of the TapOut Crew. Tapout, Punkass, Skyscrape, and the MMA community have lost a great loyal legend, and Charles “Mask” Lewis Jr will never be forgotten. His saying “Simply Believe” is wat kept me pushing and going hard all these year’s at the gym and in the cage. Ai thank you so much for that inspiration.
Last I will say, Out of all the UFC events I have attened, the one’s where I saw the TapOut Crew there. Those fights to me was a great honor to be there with yall there.
To the TapOut family, Punkass, and Skyscrape , You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank You Tapout, and Thank You MASK, again for helping me to believe and getting me to where I am today in the MMA world.
Im greatful to know that now I will have a TapOut Legend up there watchin over me and giving me motivation for training and in the cage.

RIP - Charles “Mask” Lewis
” SIMPLY BELIEVE”
just wanted to say thank you for sharing mask with me. he touched my life in such a way that i can never look back. i’ll say a few prayers for you and mask. i thank you for being you
peace
Charles “Mask” Lewis is a beautiful soul who will continue to inspire in death as he did in life. He was not alone though. Punkass and Skyscrapes had inspired as well. The way you all spread your message of hope, faith, and courage, brings people alive even when we didnt realize it. I am not a fighter. I love the sport, admire the the people for having the courage to commit to what they love as they do, but for me, Mask, Skyscrapes, and Punkass have helped me to be a better father to my 3 children. You have shown me different ways to look values that can be easily overlooked. I have been able to see the impact that your support to complete strangers has been able to do for them. The amount of emotion and care you guys have put into the people who surround you is beautiful. I never had the honor and privilege of meeting Mask, but I still miss him as if I did. I hope to see Punkass and Skyscrape again on the Tapout show doing their crazy thing, while inspiring a new group of champions! You all have been and will continue to be in my prayers.
Hey thank you Tapout for all you do for the fighting community. So sorry to hear about your loss you guys just keep believing and you will make it out. Thank you Mask for showing me how to top my self every day you will live in everyones hearts for a long time to come.
Simply Believe!
